I got a 12v motor out of a reciprocating saw, looking for gears and push arms (like a locomotive) to upsize the push/pull. Then I'll contain the whole thing in a box of some sort, add a 12v power pack and a dimmer switch of sorts.

What kind of design parameters are we looking at here?
I should imagine that a satisfactory machine would have to a considerable weight to counteract the weight of the fistee.
Adjustable stroke length would seem to be desirable as well as variable stroke speed.
Relative silence of operation and a good power margin to avoid overheating would also seem to be advantageous.

I have been perfecting a pendulum based fucking device that hangs from chains. It can be mounted to the same mounts as the ass end of a sling or mounted for use kneeling/bent over. Body motion sets it swinging. The action can range from gentle probing to wicked plunge fucking. 70 lbs of ballast are used for good robust fucking force. I have made a mount similar to vac-u loc which holds the ass tools well and allows for easy exchange.
All materials are available at a hardware store except the green pendulum, which can be sourced at a surplus store.
No sound other that what you make and some sloppy juicy noises on occasion, no electricity required, low carbon footprint...should we be concerned about Crisco footprint?

Having built various powered machines which require a great deal of mechanical and electrical skill and engineering resources, i tend to agree that the way to go is the heavy pendulum. I have used an old flywheel with some attachment points, two vertical bars are bolted on for stability ( otherwise it flops around ) and the dildo is on an adjustable spring mount to adjust the angle of attack. Cords are attached to each side and are used to get the swinging motion going and keep it going. The dildos are made from pool noodle material shaped on a belt sander, where you are only limiter by your imagination. Gas quality baloons (with the rings for blowing them up cut off) are perfect for getting a nice smooth finish. i screw a 150 mm long x 10 mm coach bolt into the pool noodle material and i have drilled and put an 8mm thread into the hex end of the coach screw. With regard to powered versions i am happy to send details but essentially I have used a sliding gate drive motor which has a powerfull gearbox and is 12 volt so can be speed controlled and has the element of safety.
