View Full Version : thailand, is using the water ok for douching?

hi guys off to thailand and cambodia tomorrow night, should have posted earlier, but wandered if you have any advice about water quality and douching?

sounds a fab holiday..but what about the sights rather then playing..call me old fashion..but i really couldnt be arsed travelling that far an all i was concerned about was playing.

hi mister, well for someone that doesnt play often this is mine and my partners time to see the sights and spend some quality time with each other,
hence playing and seeing sights, ive been working 18 hours a day for ages recently, so im sure you can appreciate, quality time with each other in a beautiful place.

any advice on water quality:?

it's too late for oinkable but in case there are other worried travellers tap water in Thailand is perfectly safe for cleaning out. Most do not drink it but that is more to do with the taste than the safety

most toilets in thailand(except your 4/5 stars western hotels) have a traditional spray/tap next to the bog which the locals prefers to loo roll - fab for douching. I do it all the time and have not encountered any particular problem. no wonder the thais are always so clean...hummgh..enjoy your hols!

I was so impressed I bought two [Tesco and most dept stores sell them] and had them installed at home

I remember when all those Ugandan asians were thrown out by Idi Amin.
I worked in one of the receiving camps for several months and remember how disgusted they were by our habit of just using toilet paper and not rinsing with water.
