After using poppers I sometimes have a nose bleed. Can poppers damage the nasal lining and cause bleeding?

My nose is not bleeding but gets red, but I don't bother about it. Your bleeding nose now and again, due to a sensitive vein bursting. Bleeding is of course annoying, but I would not too much bother about it. Something else, I think more serious. After a long FF session with poppers, but using amynitrite at its base (poppers anyway), my lungs are as if I had a cold, quite annoying. It disappears after two days. But, the pleasure in FF, seems to be more important.

Try sucking the vapour from a huffing bottle instead of sniffing.
You can easily make a huffing bottle from a small jar, for example a horseradish or mint sauce bottle - anything small with a lid that can be easily closed will do.
Make two holes in the top of the lid.
The holes should be the same size as the tube you stick through them. The round holders of a old ballpoint are good as tubes.
Cut one tube short so that it just sticks out of the top of the cap about an inch with the end almost on the bottom of the jar.
The other tube can be longer, but the end of the tube stop about a centimetre under the lid.
Protect the bottle from breakage by wrapping gaffer tape (duck tape) round it.
Put a small amount of cottonwool in the bottle so that it is full but not tightly packed. Pour a few drops of poppers on the cotton wool.
Put the lid back on, so that one tube sticks through to the bottom and the other is above the cotton wool.

To use suck gently on the long tube sticking out of the bottle. If you wan't to control the rate of flow, you can place your finger over the end of the other tube - the inlet tube.

It feels great, but it's a volatile, highly flamable liquid (like gasoline or Everclear!). It can't be safe at least in large amounts or frequency. If your nose is bleeding, I'd take that as a sign to stop. If you're snorting something up your nose (i.e., a stimulant) while using poppers, that's very dangerous because your heart is already working harder. The drop in blood pressure and increase in heart rate could mean serious trouble in that case. Same is true if you're taking a medication like Viagra.

You may just over do it. Poppers act by dilating veins allowing more oxygen to reach your brain. A common mistake it to inhale more and more vapours to increase the effect. The secret is to allow for loads of oxygen to reach your brain between vapours intake. So take a couple of very deep breath after each inhalation of the stuff and you may find that you don't need that much vapours to get the maximum effect. This way you may also reduce the occurence of nose bleeds. Remember, it's the oxygen reaching the brain that provides most of the effect!

I have accidentally had poppers poured in my nose before now. My head was back so it went right down. It burnt like hell but was fine after half an hour. My point being, I guess some people have a thinner lining in there nose.
If you have high blood presure you might be more susseptable to nose bleeding as the lining there is the thinest of any point on your outer body.
The least you could probably do is put some vasaline on and in your nose to protect it and not use poppers so much. The most you can do is stop using it lol.
Anyway just my 2p.
Also, you probably know this already but "don't" stick your head pack when you have a nose bleed.
